HPAL members enjoyed the Sugar Maple Festival at Fort Hunter.
On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, members of the Harrisburg Police Athletic League TRU in collaboration with the Harrisburg Area YMCA Northern Dauphin County Branch, participated in Advocacy Day at the PA State Capitol. The youth united with other TRU groups from all over PA. Activities included meeting legislators, providing education on important tobacco control issues and participating in a mock trial. The youth also participated in fun & interactive games, learned about advocacy and stood up for tobacco control in PA. The HPAL TRU had the opportunity to meet with Senator Rob Teplitz’s office to discuss the importance of a comprehensive clean indoor air law in PA with no exemptions. Those participating were: Ja’Shiya Anderson, Dayjah Taylor, Jeshae Buxton, Doniqua Banks, Chaunice Woodward and Advisor Anbria Bates.
