2018 Dancing with the Stars Gala

Join us on Saturday, September 8 at the prestigious Hilton Harrisburg for an elegant evening of dinner and dancing, all to benefit the boys and girls of the Harrisburg Police Athletic League.

Doors open at 5pm, with a social hour and silent auction, followed by dinner and an exciting dance competition featuring local law enforcement officers and community leaders. Swatara Police Chief Darrell Reider will be returning to defend his title!

Officer Team 1:
Officer Adrienne Monroy and Instructor Sasha Ableitner

Adrienne Monroy has worked for the Harrisburg Bureau of Police since January 2016 and is currently assigned to the Community Policing Unit as of May 2018. Previously, Adrienne was assigned to the 3-11 platoon working as a patrol officer and the platoon forensics officer. Some aspects of the job she greatly enjoys are first and foremost the opportunity to be a positive impact in an individuals life. Adrienne enjoys that no one day is the same and that she can serve as a mentor, therapist, parent, and friend all in one day. Adrienne has been a life-long fan of the tv show Dancing with the Stars and is very excited for this opportunity to support the Harrisburg PAL Program.

Sasha Ableitner began teaching at PA Dancesport in 2016. She competes with Aaron Williams in ballroom dance competitions. She is the principal dancer, choreographer and owner of Luna Nova Belly Dance and enjoys a successful career as a lawyer.

Officer Team 2:
Chief Darrell Reider and Wife Shelly

Darrell and Shelly Reider have been married for 14 years. Shelly Reider has worked at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown for the past 17 years as a Restorative Therapy Assistant. She enjoys going to her camp in Cameron County, Pa and going to the beach with her family.

Chief Darrell R. Reider has been employed by the Swatara Township Police Department since March 6, 1989, where he has served in several assignments including the uniformed patrol division, Detective/Juvenile Aid Officer, promoted to Seargeant, promoted to Lieutenant in Charge of Criminal Investigation/Field Services,Deputy Chief, and most recently promoted to Police Chief. Prior to becoming a police officer, Darrell was a security officer at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, and a Youth Detention Counselor at the Woodside Juvenile Detention Center in Dauphin County.

For his efforts, Darrell achieved the Swatara Township Police Officer of the year award in 2006 and in 2008 he was recognized throughout the state of PA for his work on Child Sexual Abuse Cases by earning the Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Award of Excellence. Chief Reider has received the Departmental Award of Heroism, the Life Saving Award, numerous Awards of Merit and the Team Achievement Award.

Officer Team 3:
Corporal Walt Cook and Wife Gina

Walt and Gina Cook are natives of central PA. They met when they were 15 years old at Central Dauphin HS and have been together ever since. Walt and Gina have two children.

Walt has been employed by the Lower Paxton Township PD since 2003. Walt is currently a Corporal and works in the Community Policing Unit. He is active in educating local young people and is best known as “Officer Cookie”. Walt served 8 years in the US Army, where he was an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Tech. Walt also serves Dauphin County as a member of the Crisis Response Team (CRT).

Gina works for Lower Paxton Township Parks and Rec when she is not busy taking care of the many needs of her family. Gina is the former owner of Linglestown Flowers and Gifts and is an expert florist. She enjoys gluten free cooking and baking.

During their Army experience, Walt and Gina lived in Alabama, Florida, Texas and Wisconsin. They are proud of their central PA roots and call this area home. Walt and Gina are rookie dancers and thank you for your support.

Couple 1:
Sabrena Hartley and Boyfriend William Garrison

Sabrena lives in Etters with her daughter, Alexandra and her boyfriend, Will. She received her AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2001. Sabrena opened Rossmoyne Animal Emergency Trauma Center in October 2012. She is active in Goldheart Golden Retriever Rescue as a foster parent and takes great pride in treating all local police K-9’s at her hospital at absolutely no charge.

William Garrison lives in Etters with his girlfriend, Sabrena. He has owned Ceramic Tile Express since 1995.

Couple 2:
Laura A Wagner and Instructor Kelson Cowart
Cha Cha

Laura A. Wagner is chief operating officer at UPMC Regional Medical Group where she is responsible for overseeing and improving day-to-day operations of the Physician Services division. Laura has more than 30 years of experience in optimizing physician networks to drive performance using a variety of solutions including increasing productivity, achieving referral management and leakage reduction, physician network development, and operations. Before joining UPMC Pinnacle, Laura served Heritage Valley Health System in multiple roles for more than 22 years. Laura holds a Master of Business Administration from Robert Morris University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh. She has been married to her husband Ken for more than 30 years and is the mother of four children, grandmother to 10, and great-grandmother to one.

Kelson Cowart has been dancing and teaching at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Lemoyne for over three years. He is a certified dance instructor and competes with his students several times a year as well as puts on professional performances. However, meeting new people and teaching them how to dance has been the most rewarding part of his career.

Couple 3:
Mike Wilson and Wife Amy Zentz

Mike Wilson is Chief Marketing Officer / Chief Relationship Officer at Members 1st Federal Credit Union, as well as a Partner in The Vineyard & Brewery at Hershey. Mike is a graduate of Central Penn College and has an MBA from Eastern University. Mike is a graduate of the Leadership Harrisburg, Cumberland, Lancaster and Lebanon programs and serves on the boards of the Children’s Miracle Network, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the USO – Southern PA & NJ, and the Harrisburg Redevelopment Authority. After growing up as an Army brat who has moved around internationally, Mike is proud to call Dauphin County his true “home.”

Amy Zentz is Vice President of Zentz Industrial Services and Zentz Acquisitions in Lebanon, PA. A graduate of Cedar Crest high school and Central Penn College, Amy is born and raised in south central Pennsylvania. In addition to her full time career in the packaging and property management industries, as well as serving as the proud parent of a rescue Pug, Amy generously dedicates her time to supporting her husband, Mike, in his career at Members 1st.
